Fun fact: having and dealing with anxiety is pretty bloody exhausting. Another fun fact? A good way to recover from being exhausted is resting… But how do you rest?

If your anxiety is anything like mine, it likes to keep me going. I don’t like to sit and have ‘down time’ I like to move and keep busy.

It become apparent to me a least once month that my body (and mind) needs rest. When I realise this though, it’s usually too late and because I am so tired my old pal anxiety joins the party.

When I was trying to work out how to rest last time, I  googled it. The results mainly turned up ways to sleep better, which while helpful, was not what I was looking for, so… I turned to the trusty people of Facebook and asked them how they rested.

18 lovely people responded to my queries and shared how they rested. Here’s what they had to say…

So basically, everyone rests differently. What works for one person may not work for another. If you are struggling to rest you could always give one these things a try, or if you need more help, maybe reach out to a professional.

How do you rest? Did you try any of these suggestions?
